Hebrew Hangout Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

AKS Solutions, LLC, doing business as Hebrew Hangout ("Hebrew Hangout," "we," "us," or "our") takes your privacy seriously and understands the importance of protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

"Personal information" means, except where otherwise defined by applicable law, any information that identifies, relates to, or is reasonably linkable to an identified or identifiable individual.

By visiting hebrewhangout.com (the "Site") or using our tutoring services, you agree to this Privacy Policy as it may be amended from time to time. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to our employees, job applicants, or independent contractors.

For Parents and Guardians

Our students are children, and most of them are under the age of 13. We built this section first on purpose.

We collect information about your child from you, not from your child. Our booking and contact forms are written for parents and guardians. We ask for your child's first name and age so we can plan lessons at the right level. We do not ask children to create accounts, fill out forms, or submit information to us through the Site.

We obtain your consent before we begin. When you submit a booking or contact form and identify a child, you are giving us permission to collect and use that child's information for the purpose of providing tutoring. We do not collect more information about a child than is reasonably necessary to teach the lessons.

We do not use children's information for advertising. We do not sell it, we do not disclose it to third parties for their own marketing, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles or serve targeted ads. Our advertising and analytics technologies are configured so that information you submit about your child is not passed to advertising platforms.

Lessons are live video, and sessions are recorded. We hold lessons over Google Meet. Recordings capture your child's image, voice, and work during the session. We record so your family can practice between lessons, and we send the recording to the parent email you provide. Recordings are stored in Google Drive and retained for 12 months after your child's final lesson.

Your child's work stays private. Nothing about your child is made public through our Site or services. Lessons are one on one, so no other students are present.

You are in control. At any time you may:

To make any of these requests, email aliza@hebrewhangout.com or call (561) 236-5922. We will verify that you are the child's parent or guardian before we act on a request. If your child is under 13, that verification may include a signed statement confirming your relationship to the child.

We do not send marketing communications to children. We correspond with the parent or guardian only.

Information We Collect

Our booking and contact forms do not store submissions in a database. Submissions are encrypted in transit and delivered to us by email, where they are held in our Google Workspace inbox.

Information you provide to us. We collect the following when you book a trial lesson, send us a message, subscribe to our newsletter, or become a client:

Information from lessons. During and after sessions we collect and keep session recordings, practice notes, progress notes, lesson materials, and drafts of your child's d'var Torah.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our providers collect your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and time spent on the Site. We use cookies and similar technologies for this. See "Cookies and Tracking" below.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, or biometric identifiers.

How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

We may use de-identified or aggregated information, which cannot reasonably be linked back to you or your child, for any lawful purpose.

Third Parties to Whom We Disclose Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose any information about a child to advertising platforms.

We disclose personal information in the following situations:

Service providers and vendors. We use outside companies to run the business. Each is permitted to use your information only to perform services for us. Our providers include:

Advertising and analytics partners. We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to measure how visitors find and use our Site and how our ads perform. Under some state privacy laws, this kind of activity is treated as "sharing" or a "sale" of personal information even where no money changes hands. See "State Privacy Rights" below for how to opt out.

Legally compelled disclosures and safety. We may disclose personal information when required by law, court order, subpoena, or government authority. We may disclose it to protect the safety of a child or another person, to investigate suspected fraud or misuse of our services, or to protect our legal rights or property.

Business transfer. If our business is acquired, merged, reorganized, or sold, personal information may be included in the transferred assets. Any acquirer would be bound by the commitments in this Privacy Policy for information collected before the transfer.

With your authorization. We disclose personal information to third parties when you tell us to. For example, if you ask us to share a progress note or recording with a family member, a synagogue, or a cantor.

Session Recordings

Recording is part of how the program works. Practice between sessions depends on it.

Recordings are delivered to the parent email address on file. We do not publish recordings, post them publicly, or use them in marketing without your written permission. If you would prefer that a session not be recorded, tell us before the session and we will turn recording off.

You may request deletion of your child's recordings at any time by emailing aliza@hebrewhangout.com.

Cookies and Tracking

Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies, delivered through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors find and use the Site and to measure our advertising. These include Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel.

These technologies run on our public marketing pages. They are configured so that information you enter about your child is not transmitted to Google or Meta.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Parts of the Site may not work as expected if you block them. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and you can manage Meta ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account.

Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal. When we detect it, we stop advertising and analytics tracking for that browser.

Text Messages

If you provide your phone number and opt in, we may send you text messages about scheduling, session reminders, and occasional updates.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at aliza@hebrewhangout.com.

We do not sell or share phone numbers collected for text messaging with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Your Choices and Your Rights

Access and correction. Email aliza@hebrewhangout.com to ask what personal information we hold about you or your child, or to correct anything that is wrong.

Deletion. Email aliza@hebrewhangout.com to request deletion of your information or your child's information. We may keep records we are required to keep for tax, accounting, or legal purposes.

Marketing email. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You may also email us to opt out. If you opt out of marketing, we will still send you messages about scheduling, billing, and your child's lessons.

Text messages. Reply STOP to any message to opt out.

Verification. We will confirm your identity before acting on a request. For requests about a child, we will confirm that you are the child's parent or guardian.

Timing. We respond to requests within 30 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why.

No penalty. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

State Privacy Rights

Several states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others, give residents rights over their personal information. Many of these laws apply only to businesses above certain revenue or data volume thresholds, and we may fall below them.

We honor requests to access, correct, and delete personal information from residents of any state, regardless of whether a given law applies to us. Submit requests to aliza@hebrewhangout.com or (561) 236-5922.

Opting out of advertising and analytics. We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel may be treated as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising or as a "sale" under some state laws. To opt out, email aliza@hebrewhangout.com, or enable the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser and we will honor it automatically. We never include information about a child in this activity.

Appeals. If we decline a request, you may ask us to reconsider by replying to our response. We will review and answer within 45 days.

Nevada residents. Nevada law gives residents the right to direct a business not to sell certain personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined by Nevada law. To submit a request anyway, email aliza@hebrewhangout.com.

Information Security

We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or loss. These include:

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information for as long as it takes to deliver our services and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations:

Parents may request earlier deletion at any time. We may keep billing records we are legally required to retain, and our payment processor keeps its own transaction records under its own retention schedule.

Other Sites

Our Site may link to sites we do not operate. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Users Outside the United States

We teach students anywhere in the world. Our operations and our service providers are based in the United States. If you are outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. By using our services, you consent to that transfer.

If you are in a country that grants privacy rights beyond those described here, contact us at aliza@hebrewhangout.com and we will respond to your request.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we revise the Effective Date at the top. Check back occasionally to stay current on our practices.
