Hebrew Hangout
How it works

A calm path from “where do we even start” to the bimah.

Every family arrives at a different place. Here’s the shape of the journey - we’ll tailor the pace to your child and your date.

1

Find your date

Send us the date of the Bar or Bat Mitzvah. We work backward to build a relaxed, realistic schedule - usually 6 to 12 months of weekly sessions.

2

A free trial lesson

Your child meets Aliza for a free one-on-one session - no pressure, just a real feel for the teaching style before you commit to anything.

3

Build the foundation

Aleph-Bet, then reading, then the blessings. We start exactly where your child is, whether that’s fluent or brand new.

4

Learn the trope

The chanting comes next, broken into bite-size aliyot. Every session is recorded so practice at home is simple.

5

Write the d’var Torah

Aliza helps your child find something real to say about their parsha - in their own voice, not a template.

6

Stand on the bimah

By the big day your child knows the room cold. You get to just be proud.

Starting from zero?
That’s the most common place we begin. No Hebrew, no Hebrew school, no synagogue - we’ll build the whole foundation together, calmly.
Already in Hebrew school?
Plenty of our students just need focused, supplemental help with trope and their portion. We slot right alongside what they’re already doing.
